How do I use the VDI?

Setup requirements for VDI access

  • Modern computer running Windows or macOS
    • "Modern computer" includes any computer built after 2019
    • Refer to the computer specifications table below
Recommended Minimum
  • CPU with 4 cores with hyperthreading (8 threads)
  • 16GB of memory (RAM)
  • Minimum 2GB of free disk space
  • CPU with 4 cores OR 2 cores with hyperthreading (4 threads)
  • 8GB of memory (RAM)
  • Minimum 2GB of free disk space
  • Stable home internet connection (Ping jitter <10ms - avoid cellular hotspots/public WiFi)
  • <100ms ping to Microsoft's servers
  • No VPN usage of any kind.
    • VDIs and the Firm's VoIP phone system is sensitive to network conditions; avoid any VPNs or third-party proxies that could add delays or impede your VDI session connection. 
If you do not meet these requirements for VDI access, IT will be unable to provide any support.

Accessing the VDI to get started:


The following steps below will help you get connected initially so you can get onboarded with your firm-related services
The steps below are not intended for everyday use - rather just to get started.

  1. Head to https://windows.cloud.microsoft in Chrome or Edge.
  2. Log in with your provisioned DK Law Microsoft account credentials.
  3. Once logged in, you will see a device called "Desktop" - click it and accept any prompts shown for permissions & MFA in order to connect to the VDIs.
  4. In the VDI: click on the SharePoint KB link above and follow the instructions to download and install the Windows App client for an optimized connection to your VDI.
